Tenrikyo-Ofudesaki - Why Written Instruction

Pondering this I might ask myself how my understanding differs from those who heard the teaching of the way to the truth of origin directly from the mouth of the master teacher yet for one reason or another didn't understand what they heard.

We will go into those reasons for misunderstanding in more detail but for now it is sufficient to note that the Poems are intended to overcome the common and universal limitations of the spoken word.
