Tenrikyo-Ofudesaki - Intentions of the Nakayama Family, the Villagers and the World
After awakening things did not go well for Miki and indeed there never was a time in the tireless struggle to open even just "a narrow path" of returning the human mind to its origin that there was a general understanding of the intention of the path. There were instances of true sincerity acknowledged and returned but never a large and general understanding among those who came seeking aid and comfort on their own terms and based on their prior expectations and common truths of their world.
As we step through the "Guides" Section we will see in greater detail the reasons for that situation by viewing them as falling into two very general categories: They are a lack of understanding, we are naturally born not knowing anything about the origin of our mind. And misunderstanding, by mixing in ideas, expectations and truths of the world already held in our self-centered imaginations and which have no bearing on the actual work related to awakening; just like Miki had.
Though Miki had awakened, the minds of her family, the villagers and the world remained the same. The challenge was and continues to be, how to find ways to get through to the minds of the world so that our species can move on to the next step in our evolution; that next step being our awakening to the true origin of our mind and the settling of the truth of self so that we can all realize the joy of playing freely in this world.
