Tenrikyo Ofudesaki - I Shall Use Another Name -
This is an excellent example of the tireless effort of our original parental consciousness; whose willingness to use whatever means are necessary to get through to us and to show us how to reach out to all of the minds of the world. By changing names as well as other teaching devices we are shown a model of a dynamic path that moves forward by employing a variety of means deemed to be appropriate for the time, place and level of maturity of the people of a particular time and place and by extension a model path to be adapted to reach out to all of the various self-centered imaginations, kinds of human minds in the world in all times, places and at all levels of maturity.
There exists one true conscious origin of the mind; that one true original consciousness is the same for all minds but all of the names, forms, words, concepts and ideas that rise up in the imagination and are used to indicated it are changeable and either serve to awaken the mind to its true origin or if misunderstood in intention, to keep it cloaked in self-centered dreams. It is up to us to calm our mind and sincerely ponder and sort out which ones to use and how they will be used to hasten returning the self-centered imagination to its origin; often referred to as universal single-hearted salvation or merging and becoming one with the original mind of God.
