Tenrikyo Ofudesaki - A Natural Lack of Understanding Verses Misunderstanding -

Sure Guides to awakening to the truth of your self

Looking all over the world and through all ages,
I find no one who has understood My heart.
So should it be, for I have never taught it to you.
It is natural that you know nothing.

The two stanzas above inform us that a lack of understanding of the true origin of our mind, metaphorically God's "Heart" is natural for our human species.

At this time, I, God, reveal Myself
and teach the truth of all things in detail.

The stanza above informs us that now, God, the original mind of God, has been revealed and the true origin of the human self-centered imagination, of human beings, has been taught.

Your are calling this place the Jiba, the Residence of God,
in Yamato, but you may not know the origin.

This last stanza above informs us that though the path of returning the mind to its origin has been taught, it has been misunderstood. In that way these first four verses are crucial for anyone who would want to follow this path and quickly awaken to the truth origin of the human mind, the original cause of all things in detail. For those who would "dance the truth" this is even more strongly worded in the "Yorozuo" section of what is currently called the "Dance with Hand Movements".

The Ofudesaki Poems deal with a conversation between the God's true "heart" and the difficulties our self-centered imaginations have in knowing and understanding the true origin of our own mind. It is vitally important that we make the effort to see this teaching as something entirely new and identify with the intention of God's side of the conversation.  The points of view of various ways of  misunderstanding are amply addressed in the poems and attaching to them is not recommended.  Of course the good news is that depending upon which side of the conversation we sincerely attach to we can be taught how to quickly reveal the true origin of our own human mind, the original cause of all things in detail.
