Tenrikyo Ofudesaki -Worldly Common Thinking -

Settling this sure guide is crucial for understanding the intention and instructions throughout the poems. Pondering the implications of this assertion, one might ask some straight forward questions, for instance: What would the worldly common understanding of the teaching have been at the time that the poems were written? Once again we are provided with a glimpse of an answer to that question in the way in which Miki Nakayama and her family approached the topics of illness, death and weakening prior to Miki's awakening.

We can also then ask how those worldly common views or variations on those views remain in worldly common thinking and truths of the world in our own time and more importantly, in our own mind.

 As concerns making a determined resolve to understand these poems as a  "service" by doing the work of pondering deeply; the meaning of this couplet should then be able to be understood throughout all of the poems. And the sincere mind made able to distinguish between the worldly common interpretation and the intended interpretation. Or in the simplest most direct instruction, to be able to understand by distinguishing between the words, "clear" or "muddy"  in one's own mind.
