Tenrikyo-Ofudesaki - Instruments -
When we read proper names that appear in the "Tip of The Writing Brush", the common worldly expectation is that they refer to separate individuals. Those various individuals could then be understood in pretty much the same common worldly way in which gods, spirits and instruments of gods have, across all human cultures in all previous times and places, always been understood.
We can now in this time, if we wish, understand that those proper names are intended to be metaphors indicating fundamentals of creation deemed to be appropriate for a particular time, place and level of spiritual maturity. If however we choose not to view them as metaphors but as proper individuals or a God that needs a name that is still in fact fine as the purpose of them is the same in either case: That purpose being the hastening of the performance of any work or Service to quickly prepare the mind for awakening to the truth of its origin by returning it to its original pristine condition; metaphorically the "mind like clear water".
As these pages are intended to be dedicated to the performance and completion of the work (Service) of "pondering deeply" let's step through a way of reasoning that is intended to reveal the true origin of our mind.
Originally there is only one consciousness that is the source of the idea and cause of the appearance of the universe.
The Instruments are whatever fundamentals combine and go through the changes necessary to realize the appearance of the universe.
Accepting as fact that this universe is the body of the original consciousness, the instruments are of the nature of the original one and their forms only exist and are assembled as an idea of that one consciousness. The metaphoric name Moonsun is meant to be instructive of that original cause and reflected effect.
The idea that assembled the instruments works freely and unlimitedly. Ponder the forms that have appeared and disappeared over the eons and appreciate the free and unlimited workings of the original one.
