Tenrikyo-Ofudesaki - Dig Up The Root-
We will encounter the "root" as a theme that appears in multiple sections and verses but for now it is enough to settle some important points regarding this direct instruction and the question that is associated with it.
The word "root" is a metaphor for the truth of origin, the true original source of the human mind and the idea of creating a human being.
Quickly and sincerely, as in right now, try pondering and pay attention to where the voice of your mind rises up.
Once that voice is identified, hold it. When it settles what remains is the original conscious mind of God. Practice being one with that original consciousness.
Finally, ask yourself, if I decide not to quickly try the pondering and dig up the root, what am I doing instead?
